Security being increased for Saturday
Friend of mine has a security company and has been asked to supply 25 SIA licenced Door Supervisors for the Watford game.

He has been made aware of how useless the new stewards are. Sounds like they wanted to pay minimum wage to everyone but his people don't work for that sort of money.

All they need is a notice at each entrance saying

Anyone Discovered To Be An Away Supporter WILL Be Dismantled.

Good idea The Watford Ultras are a naughty bunch of chaps compared to Bournemouth and there was a fracas with them.

This might be the firm who I was talking to one of their doormen about the OS.

He said BERKS Inc tried to massively reduce their hourly rate whilst expecting them to provide and manage more men with a take it or fuck off demand.

So, they fucked off as it wasn't worth their while.

Still, BERKS Inc are fans like us and men of the people and would never dream of turning local businesses over.

The Berks are not responsible for the security.
The LLDC are and it comes as part of the rent deal. That is why we have been stuck with the muppets who do the athletics and other events.

That is the Berks trump card. When something goes wrong they can put their hands up up and say "nothing to do with us".

I didn't think the stewards and security were anything to do with the club? In fact wasn't there a story printed from one of the long serving stewards yesterday or the day before about how it's being run now its NOT under the clubs remit? IE experienced stewards who are fans being given jobs guarding lifts etc and new inexperienced stewards being chucked in with the fans and not having a scooby???

I'm certainly not chatting shit, I was talking to one of the managers not a worker.

Still, keep fooling yourselves these genial old men are nice people.

That's not exactly right, I'm right at the front and I got talking to the nice lady steward in front of me and she told me she was a long term steward at UP in the BMU and they were told they could apply for the same jobs at the OS

Re: Security being increased for Saturday
Those working this Saturday are getting £10 per hour not minimum wage. Two companies are working together to provide them. They are not working for OCS, but will work alongside them. The stadium operators not West Ham are responsible for stadium security.

At the moment they have not been told if they will just take care of the away fans or be deployed as response teams around the stadium.

They have experience of doing this at Millwall and Charlton.

I'll give this to 'security' for free. Don't open all the fucking doors at half time. Just asking for trouble, not to mention a terrorism risk. All very well having bags checked pre game but what's the point.

NS - I remember one of the Men In Black making the mistake of being on his own after dishing out some abuse before a game. He got thrown down a tall flight of stairs as payback.
